Teacher – for elementary age children: A small private school that services children with
special needs, seeks an experienced teacher who will develop individual plans to address academic
needs for children with social communicative challenges. A speech and language pathologist, an
occupational therapist, a DIR specialist, and additional specialized staff will support teacher.
Candidate needs to be highly organized and able to work with a team of professionals. Teacher is
responsible for all aspects of the class program including curriculum and preparation of lesson plans.
Lesson plans will include daily assignments that will be implemented by teacher and support staff.
Weekly staff meetings and parent communication will be a requirement. Candidate should have an
understanding of populations of children who learn differently and have the ability to tailor
curriculum as needed. Learning Disabilities Specialist will be responsible for a maximum of 15
children. Benefits include a reduced and flexible workweek, a minimum amount of paperwork and a
transdisciplinary team available for consult on the premises every day.
Candidate needs to have a degree in desired specialty, as well as have the qualifications to be
certified in the state of Georgia. Candidate should be proficient in using a computer and have
some knowledge of technology teaching aids. Salary for this position will be commensurate with
