The Lionheart program addresses individual needs of each student. Although, students work in small groups, material and the teaching approach matches their individual profile. Consequently, we use a variety of recognized and innovative strategies to help our students learn in meaningful, connected ways. Some of these strategies and curricula include (but are not limited to):

  • Reading Curriculum. Reading Mastery (SRA), Reading for Understanding (SRA), Sing, Spell Read and Write, Explode the Code (EPS), Wordly Wise (EPS), Touch Phonics, and Great Leaps are among some of the curriculums that will be used.
  • Math Curriculum. Selected curriculums include Saxon Math, Everyday Math and Touch Math, as well as integrating math concepts and ideas in other areas of the program.
  • Lindamood-Bell's Visualizing and Verbalizing (V/V).
  • Mel Levine's "All Kinds of Minds" Framework and Social Cognitive Curriculum.
  • Michelle Garcia-Winner's Social Thinking Curriculum.
  • Georgia Quality Core Curriculum (QCC) Resources.
  • Project-Based Learning.
  • Sensory-Based Activities to Foster Sensory Integration.
  • Technology-Assisted Learning
  • Therapeutic Interventions for Processing such as Fast Forward and Tomatis
  • Art and Music Therapy
  • Physical Education
