The Lionheart School is a non-profit organization, co-founded by some of the Southeast's leading Early Childhood Education professionals and a group of families unable to find a school or program which fit the needs of their children. Their mission was to create a new type of learning environment - one which combined the area's finest Special Education teachers, Speech, Occupational and Music Therapy professionals and concerned and active parents. At the Lionheart School, a child's development becomes a cooperative effort with teachers, therapists, consultants, parents and, of course, children, all actively involved.

The Lionheart School is a accredited member of the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Lionheart is also a Member of the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA).

The school opened in the Fall of 2000. Currently, the school operates in buildings on the grounds of the Alpharetta Presbyterian Church at 180 Academy Street in Alpharetta, Georgia, about 15 miles north of Atlanta. No affiliation exists with the church other than the extreme gratitude for their generosity and support.

Mission Statement:

"To provide a developmentally appropriate program for children on the autism spectrum and other disorders of relating and communicating who need a specialized learning environment, therapeutic interventions, relationship building skills and the educational tools necessary to achieve their greatest potential.

The Lionheart School is a registered SB-10 program. We are also registered participants in the GOAL Scholarship program.
